Western Fitting for
Certified Saddle Fitters
This five day, in-person course is designed for certified saddle fitters who've previously completed a certification in English fitting but would like to expand their knowledge for the Western disciplines. Participants will learn to differentiate saddles associated with various Western disciplines including reining, barrels, ranch work, cutting, trail, and mounted shooting. We will explore different materials used to make saddle trees and how they apply to correct saddle fit. Students will also learn how to make padding adjustments to create a balanced fit for horse and rider. This continuing education course offers professional saddle fitters the ability to expand the scope of their practice safely and ethically for all Western riders.

Intro to Saddle Fitting
This one-day in-person course is designed to provide a peek into the art, science, and business of saddle fitting. Participants will gain valuable insights to assess their interest in pursuing a career in saddle fitting or simply enhancing their personal knowledge. Recommended as a precursor to our comprehensive English Fitting and Flocking Course or the Western Fitting Course, this immersive experience offers a foundation for further exploration and learning in the field.

Saddle Fitting for Lesson Programs
Recognizing the importance of optimal saddle fit for lesson horses and horses in training, this class caters specifically to instructors and horse trainers. Participants will delve into the basics of saddle fitting, learning to discern signs of ill-fitting saddles and identifying key indicators of a proper fit. Equipped with this knowledge, students will be empowered to ensure the comfort and well-being of their equine partners, fostering optimal performance and rider-horse harmony.

Vets & Bodyworkers
Catering specifically to industry professionals, this one-day course offers a valuable introduction to the critical aspects of saddle fit for horse and rider. Participants will learn to recognize the physical and behavioral signs of poor saddle fit. Through a blend of theoretical instruction and practical demonstrations, attendees will leave empowered with a deeper understanding of saddle fit principles, and know when to consult a professional fitter.

Tack Repair
Our tack repair course offers hands-on experience focused on repairing specific areas of both English and Western saddles. Led by industry experts, these classes offer invaluable opportunities to learn practical repair techniques firsthand. With dedicated sessions tailored to each saddle type, participants will engage in interactive learning under the guidance of visiting professionals who bring their expertise directly to the Saddle Fit Academy classroom.
